Christian Thurston - Internet Marketing Manager

Christian has been a part of the internet marketing team since November, 2009.

Chritian ThurstonFormerly a devoted traveler, Christian became a part of the Internet Marketing Solution team in November, 2009.  Born in Sydney, he grew up on a boat, sailing around the world before settling in Brisbane at the age of 5.  After moving to Sydney at 12 to become a boarder at The King's School, he then went on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Science (Mathematics and The History and Philosophy of Science).  At university he also attended St. Paul's College.

After graduating in 2006, he went on a six month sailing expedition around the Pacific before living and teaching English in a South Korean public middle school.  This was followed by a trek to Everest base camp and around Annapurna in Nepal before pursuing one of his favourite interests, watching Test Match cricket in Barbados.  Next came several months of simultaneously teaching English and learning Spanish in Guatemala.  Returning home in September 2008, Christian's former life purpose of traveling was now finished.  After having been to 61 countries, it was time for a new direction, a new challenge.

Taking a job as an English language teacher at SELC in Bondi Junction, Christian continued to develop his communicative skills whilst helping students whose challenges he could easily relate to.  In his spare time Christian pursued his new-found interest in business, property and internet marketing.  Deciding to narrow the focus to internet marketing, he realised the best way to learn was to work for the best.  Doing a Google search (an appropriate way to find a company that's good at internet marketing, after all) and finding the top Australian ranked company he contacted Internet Marketing Solution with an offer they couldn't refuse: to work for free.

Christian (right side) in North Korea, 2006Realising it was a genuine offer and understanding that someone making such an offer was truly dedicated to learning the art, science and craft of internet marketing, John Crago (Internet Marketing Solution's founder) counter-offered with a part-time position.  This has evolved into Christian becoming a full-time member of the Internet Marketing Solution team and leaving behind his career as an educator.  He brings with him the skills and experience it takes to survive traveling through global hot spots like North Korea, Bolivia and Albania as well as the communicative skills to teach someone English when all they know is how to say: "Hello".

Christian's Internet Marketing specialties include Copywriting, Content Creation, Video Marketing, Ebook Writing, Google Adwords, SEO Campaigns, Link Building,  Client Training Sessions, Social Bookmarking, Facebook, Social Media and PPC advertising.  His other hobbies and interests include sailing, cricket, watching classic movies, an insatiable appetite for self-help and business development books as well as real estate investment, watching every movie on the IMDB top 250 list, Japanese culture and texas hold 'em poker.

Anyone who's dealt with Christian will know about his personal philosophy of leading with the giving hand and giving free advice and guidance wherever possible.  They also understand he's the type of person who's results focused and who relies on numbers (not hype or marketing doublespeak) to analyse campaign performance and avenues for improvement and new business opportunities for clients.

Christian is a prized asset for the internet marketing team whose focus is on developing systems and hiring strategic personnel to create high-quality results.
